The NZ Society was formed in 1987 and initially was strongest in Auckland, our largest city, but gradually, with changes in the structure of our Council, this moved south to Christchurch in the South Island. Our current President, Todd Wall, hails from Dunedin ("Edinburgh of the South"), where he has been instrumental in increasing the membership in Otago in recent years, which is now nudging Canterbury in both size and the frequency of activities throughout the year. If any clan members are planning a visit to New Zealand, please contact the Secretary beforehand, who will be pleased to provide contact details of members in the provinces you intend to visit. We are also happy to assist any members carrying out family research involving New Zealand connections, one of our Dunedin members being a licensed genealogist with access to historical records including Births, Deaths & Marriages, containing a wealth of detailed information.
